As was all but a certainty, the panelists on The View brought their hottest takes Tuesday — reacting to President Donald Trump‘s nomination of Brett Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court.
Meghan McCain posited to Joy Behar — her frequent sparring partner — that Trump’s pick could’ve been worse.
“It is not Judge Jeanine Pirro,” McCain said. “Which I, at one point in time, thought was actually a possibility.”
Behar wasn’t buying it.
“He might just be a quieter version of Judge Jeanine,” she said.
In a fiery rant, Behar went on to blast the idea that Trump is permitted to nominate a Supreme Court Justice despite being under investigation by special counsel Robert Mueller.
“Why would a president who’s under investigation by the FBI for obstruction of justice and collusion be allowed to pick a Supreme Court justice who will be there?” Behar said. “I’ll be dead. There are many people in this room who will still be alive and need abortions…and need healthcare. How dare he be allowed to do this when he is under investigation!”
Whoppi Goldberg added, “Voting is everything. You know? You don’t like what’s happening, you can stand outside and scream and yell all you want to. But it’s not going to shift anything until you put your foot in the voting booth and take responsibility for what’s happening. This is on us.”
