The burgeoning scandal encompassing former President Barack Obama’s official portrait continued to surge on Tuesday, with surprising accusations the artist included ‘secret sperm cells’ within the painting and once joked about “Killing Whitey” during an interview.
Contention surrounding Kehinde Wiley’s wildly non-traditional portrait of the Commander-in-Chief broke out within minutes of its unveiling; with industry insiders claiming the artist secretly inserted his trademark technique -concealing images of sperm within his paintings.
While the odd paintings where met with mixed reviews, to say the least, the artist, Kehinde Wiley, may have added something else into his portrait of the 44th president.
Making the rounds on social media Tuesday morning were strong suspicions that the official portrait of the former president has sperm on his face.
“His portraits initially depicted African-American men against rich textile or wallpaper backgrounds whose patterns he has likened to abstractions of sperm. Some of the subjects were famous (rap and sports stars), others not,” wrote the New York Times in 2008.

More shocking were remarks Wiley made in 2012 while discussing a recent work that featured a “black woman” decapitating a Caucasian woman; imagery Wiley said was based on the biblical story of Judith. (Related: Smithsonian Unveils The Obamas’ Official Portraits And They Are Getting Roasted Online)
“It’s sort of a play on the ‘kill whitey’ thing,” he told New York Magazine.
Obama's painting not only looks different, but Obama is the only one who asked an artist, famous for painting pictures of black people beheading white people, to paint his portrait – he also paints pictures of Black Panthers chopping the heads off of white women.
