Rep. Nancy Pelosi (CA) will be a guest judge on the upcoming season of “RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars,” the drag icon himself announced on Thursday.
The seasoned Congresswoman will join a slate of other celebrity guest judges for a revolving position determining which wanna-be drag queens can truly make the cut to become “America’s Next Drag Superstar” and win their share of a $100,000 prize.
It’s not entirely clear what Pelosi brings to the judge’s table — The Washington Post suggests that some contestants might find inspiration in her ability to do difficult work while wearing heels and pearls, and Pelosi is clearly a fan of high-end designers like Armani, whose suits she typically wears in lieu of more middle-class clothing.
But Pelosi says she’s a “fan of the show,” and that she signed up to demonstrate her support for the LGBTQ community (something that probably isn’t in doubt, given that she represents San Francisco).
She’s already getting into the spirit, wishing the contestants good luck, but cautioning that they’re going to have to really “werk” to impress her.

Hopefully, she’ll actually say that out loud on the show.
