What happens when you start believing a manufactured narrative so profusely that you lose all sense of reality? That’s what one smug executive found out after bullying a fast-food worker at Chick-fil-A, and gloating about it on YouTube.
We should say “former” smug executive, because he didn’t keep his job for very long. After it was revealed that the corporate big-wig named Adam Smith harassed and lectured people simply trying to do their jobs, his firm unceremoniously fired him and issued an apology to the fast food worker.
The video was recorded in 2012, and going viral again in an apparent throwback to the fact that this isn’t some ‘new thing’ from the Left, during a spasm of liberal protests against Chick-fil-A’s conservative corporate ownership and its opposition to legalizing gay marriage. But is still very relevant in today’s culture of sanctimonious “social justice warriors” who don’t realize that they are the ones acting like self-centered bullies.
While recording himself on his cell phone— he apparently thought he would become an internet phenomenon— Smith ordered a free water from Chick-fil-A and rolled up to the drive-though window ready to ruin someone’s day.
“Chick-fil-A is a hateful corporation,” he berated the female employee. “I don’t know how you live with yourself and work here. I don’t understand it.”
To her credit, the young worker was incredibly gracious and kind to the man verbally assaulting her. She repeatedly wished him a nice day, even as he chastised her that he “just can’t stand the hate!”
It turned out that being a condescending jerk isn’t great for your career. Soon after the video went viral, the appalled corporate employer of Adam Smith, Tucson-based medical manufacturer Vante, dropped him from its payroll.
“The actions of Mr. Smith do not reflect our corporate values in any manner. Vante is an equal opportunity company with a diverse workforce, which holds diverse opinions,” the firm publicly stated after firing Smith, according to The Daily Mail.

- Adam Mark Smith, 37, was publicly shamed after posting the video of himself berating a Chick-fil-A employee
- The video from years ago shows him expressing his disdain to Rachel Elizabeth for the fast-food chain’s anti-gay marriage stance
- Was earning $200,000-a-year and had $1 million in stock options
- He lost his job, his stock options and his family lost their house and had to give away their possessions before he was hired and fired again
- Has written a memoir, ‘A Million Dollar Cup of Water: Discovering the Wealth in Authenticity’ charting his journey
Smith’s decision to go after a front-line, minimum wage employee was based on the oh-so-controversial stance from Chick-fil-A CEO Dan Cathy that he believes in traditional marriage. How terrifying!
The left quickly decided that believing in traditional family values was exactly the same thing as “hating gay people,” despite the fact that the restaurant chain serves everyone equally and by all accounts treats people of all backgrounds with respect.
That’s more than can be said for Adam Smith and other people like him. This video is a perfect example of smug, self-obsessed progressives who skew reality in order to act like jerks to people around them.
Smith and his ilk do exactly what they claim to be against. They go out and are purposely spiteful to others, while claiming to be “against hate.” They are judgmental and even abusive to anybody who dares to hold a different opinion, yet loudly insist that they are “tolerant.”
Thankfully, other groups, like this blockhead’s former employer, aren’t putting up with incredibly rude behavior done in the name of
liberalism mental disorders.
Everybody reaps exactly what they sow… and this former executive got exactly what he had coming.
