Not even a day after California Governor Jerry Brown compared supporters of President Donald Trump to cave dwellers, he told the United Nations that America is not run by Trump.

Speaking at a United Nations round-table event on Tuesday, the Democrat vowed to fight climate change despite Trump’s stand on the issue.

“America is not run by Donald Trump. Even California is not run by Jerry Brown,” he said. “We are a country of diverse power centers and mobilizing those power centers that are not controlled by the president is still a very worthwhile goal and very powerful.” (Trending now: Sheriff Clarke DESTROYS Reporter Who Asked About His Security Detail: “F*ck You”)

The California Governor argued that “real power” lies with mayors, governors, presidents and company CEO’s, not just with the President of The United States.

“We are not a top-down, one center of power dictating to everybody else,” Brown said.

Brown has been defying Trump and criticizing his decision to withdraw the United States from the Paris climate agreement, The president has called climate change a hoax and argued that the international accord is bad for U.S. businesses.

Brown, who has been working to recruit local governments to join him  planned several climate-change events this week and speaking at one in New York City on Monday, he mocked the president’s supporters, Politico reported.

“They’re both kind of very similar,” he said. “You should check out the derivation of ‘Trump-ite’ and ‘troglodyte,’ because they both refer to people who dwell in deep, dark caves.” (Trending now: Maxine Waters Calls For Trump’s Impeachment — During Eulogy! — ‘I’m Gonna Say Impeach 45 Everyday’)

Brown expounded on reaching the goals of the United Nations at the event Tuesday, as he continued to trash the president.

“It would be great if the president would join the movement. He’s not there yet,” he said. “He believes this whole thing that we’re talking about, what all the scientists are publishing thousands of papers, is all a hoax. And it’s a hoax invented in China. He believes that.”

Brown may have found a sympathetic audience in New York but on Twitter, there were plenty cave dwellers siding solidly with the president.  (Trending now: WATCH: Matt Lauer Makes False Accusation to O’Reilly — Bill Goes Nuclear on Live TV)
