Like Father Like Son, Jeffrey Sandusky Pleads Guilty To Child Sex Abuse

Jeffrey Sandusky, son of Jerry Sandusky, pleaded guilty to child sex abuse charges on Friday, exactly one week before his trial was set to begin.

Five years after Jerry Sandusky, a former Penn State assistant football coach, was convicted of sexually abusing 10 young boy his son how faces the same type of charges.

Jeffrey Sandusky, 42, of State College, is one of the six adopted children of Jerry Sandusky, the disgraced Penn State defensive coordinator whose 2011 arrest and 2012 conviction on 45 of 48 counts of child sex abuse crimes shocked the university.

Centre County District Attorney Stacy Parks Miller announced Friday night that Jeffrey Sandusky, 41, of State College, had pleaded guilty to “all charges,” which includes 12 felonies.

The Centre Daily Times reports that the younger Sandusky was charged earlier this year:

“Jeffrey Sandusky was charged in February after state police at Rockview began an investigation when a 16-year-old known to Jeffrey Sandusky reported that he had sent the minor text messages asking for nude photos in March 2016. Another minor told police that Jeffrey Sandusky had asked her to perform sex acts on him when she was 15 years old, according to a release from the District Attorney’s Office.”

When the older teen refused to send Sandusky the photographs he demanded, Parks Miller said, he became more insistent, badgering her to comply over a two day period. Sandusky sought pictures of her “pissing”, dressing, naked body parts and nudes. Sandusky instructed the victim in follow-up texts to delete the messages and to not tell anyone, Parks Miller said.

He is charged with the following:

He was charged with:

  • Criminal solicitation of statutory sexual assault by a person 11 years older;
  • Criminal solicitation of involuntary deviate sexual intercourse of a person less than 16 years old;
  • Two counts of criminal solicitation of photograph or film depicted on the computer of a sex act knowingly involving a child;
  • Six counts of communicating with a minor – sexual abuse;
  • Two counts of criminal solicitation of child pornography, all felonies, and two misdemeanor counts of corruption of minors.

Upon sentencing, he will become a tier III sex offender, the highest tier in the state.

“While we were fully prepared to proceed to trial, today’s guilty plea to all charges ensures a significant prison sentence for Defendant’s solicitation of child sex crimes with two minors that once completely trusted him,” District Attorney Stacy Parks Miller said in the release.

“We are happy that these girls can move forward and experience a life with adults that deserve their trust.”

The elder Sandusky was convicted in 2012 of 45 counts of child sexual abuse and sentenced to 30 to 60 years in prison. Earlier this year, three former Penn State officials were given jail sentences for failing to report him to authorities. Former head coach Joe Paterno, who died in 2012, was fired in 2011, also for failing to adequately report Sandusky.
