Louisiana Democrat Governor John Bel Edwards gave remarks on CNN about President Donald Trump that anti-Trump leftists do not want you or anyone to hear.

Edwards appeared on CNN’s New Day on Tuesday and told host Chris Cuomo that the Trump administration response to the Hurricane Harvey situation in his state has been “excellent” and the governor also credited President Donald Trump for his quick action to the storm.

“Well, first of all, let me tell you the federal government has been excellent,” Governor Edwards said when asked what he’s anticipating in terms of his state’s needs.

“The president has called twice. He signed the declaration we requested within a few hours of our making the request on Sunday evening. Acting Secretary of Homeland Security Duke has been wonderful and FEMA administrator Brock has been great as well,” the governor explained.

During a press conference last Friday, Gov. Edwards said that President Trump had called him Thursday about the situation in Louisiana. ”He wanted to make sure that any requests for assistance from the federal government were being met,” Edwards said according to The Times-Picayune.

“Obviously, we are going to be the best neighbor that we can be as they evacuate,” Governor Edwards said. He said he told Texas Gov. Greg Abbott on Thursday that Louisiana would be willing to provide personnel and supplies if needed.

You don’t have to look hard to see partisan politics quickly drop off the radar when the nation faces a crisis such as this. We get reminded we are all Americans.
