Its been reported that multiple bakeries have refused to make a cake for a 9 year old child who wanted a birthday cake in the shape of President Donald Trump’s “Make America Great Again” hat.
Dylan Harbin mother set out in hoped to buy a Trump-themed birthday cake for her son, but was unable to find a baker willing to complete her order.
Dylan, also known as “Pickle,” recently made headlines when White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders read a letter he wrote to the president in July during a press briefing.
In his letter, Dylan introduced himself as “Pickle” and asked the president “why people don’t like” him.
“I’m 9 years old and you are my favrit [sic] president. I like you so much I had a birthday about you. My cake was the shap [sic] of your hat,” the letter read.
After Sanders read the letter at the press briefing, The Washington Post tracked down Dylan and his family to determine the authenticity of the letter.
In their interview with the family, the Post uncovered the fact that Dylan’s mother, SueAnn Harbin, ended up making the cake herself after all of the bakeries she contacted refused to do so.
Harbin said her son did not want a birthday cake unless it was in the shape of Trump’s classic red hat bearing the slogan “Make America Great Again” across its front.
“But she is always behind her children 100 percent, so when Pickle asked for a Donald Trump suit for his birthday, she bought him one, and when he asked for a Donald Trump cake, she made him one herself, because she couldn’t find a bakery willing and able to do it,” the Post reported.
