During this Thursday’s showing of MSNBC’s Hardball, host Chris Matthews appeared to suggest that President Donald Trump murder his son-in-law, Jared Kushner.
“Now we find Kushner, in the Middle East, brokering the Middle East peace process, whatever it is, among the Arabs and the Israelis and Likud and everybody else. Meanwhile, Tillerson’s sitting around doing what? He can’t even appoint his own deputies.”
“The power seems to have gone to the son-in-law. This is the Romanovs. Just a thought, the Romanovs. Is it?” he continued, in reference to the Russian political family that was executed under Lenin’s orders in 1918.
Matthews went on to state, “and then you find out, in all these investigations that Jared was opening up a tunnel to Moscow, so that he wouldn’t have to deal with the State Department. So, the son-in-law — you know, one good thing Mussolini did was execute his son-in-law.
As Newsbusters reports, that was too much for even New York Times columnist Frank Bruni, who warned, “be careful here.”
“I know that was an extreme measure,” responded Matthews. “But this was — this is a strange situation.”

Unsurprisingly, liberals don’t appear to be upset by Chris Matthews’ remarks, which were made in the midst of their frothing about Trump’s Mika Brzezinski comments.
Apparently, it’s okay to suggest that a government official who has said no ill word against you should be executed but firing back at a woman who has dedicated the past several months of her life to sheer vitriol is wrong.
Newsbusters has kindly pointed out that yesterday’s advertisers on Hardball included Cascade, Johnson’s baby lotion, and Lincoln Financial.
