Hustler head honcho Larry Flynt is quickly jumping to the defense of the magazine’s controversial 43rd anniversary issue.
The controversial cover shows a woman wearing an American flag hijab that is pulled up to reveal part of her bare breast with the words “Freedom First” at the bottom.
“The Hustler Anniversary Issue is an irreverent political statement against the taboos of repression,” Flynt told Fox News.
A hijab is worn by some Muslim women to cover their hair and is a symbol of modesty.
This is hardly the first time Huster has faced controversy coming under fire. The magazine infamously features a close-up of a woman’s bikini area wearing an American flag bikini bottom.
Hustler magazine’s cover features a hijab-wearing model, but that’s not all – the model is wearing an “American flag” hijab that exposes her “underboob.”
The porno mag’s cover proclaims: “’America’s Magazine: Anniversary Special’ and near the bottom, ‘Freedom First,'” noted Yahoo Style.
It’s not the first time Hustler magazine has used the American flag in a controversial manner on one of its covers.
In 1976, the magazine’s cover featured “a tight-pan image of a woman’s bikini area.” The bikini was made out of American flag print.
The Somali-American model Halima Aden was featured on the cover of Vogue Arabia’s June 2017 issue.
Aden, who walked the runway for Kanye West’s fall 2017 Yeezy line in September of last year, is now the first model to wear a hijab on the cover of Vogue, and she’s only 19.
