Today even Glenn Beck of TheBlaze spoke about how hard the TV was to turn on and what the coverage of this horrific event. We all hope the targeting of kids and young children today was just a circumstance of opportunity, however many experts are calling this a new direction. Constant coverage of attack after attack has made some numb to the idea of more death. Are they now upping their game to target children to invoke new fears and reactions?
On “Glenn” today, Glenn Beck and the Think Tank panel discussed the carnage and aftermath of the Islamic State terrorist attack at an Ariana Grande concert in Manchester, England, that killed 22 people and injured dozens more. Most of the victims were young girls.
Glenn noted that terrorists sometimes target children when their chosen enemy has gone numb from previous assaults. He recalled a horrific Chechen attack in Beslan, Russia where only 300 children out of 777 survived a three day assault that started on the first day of school. The children witnessed the beheading, rape, and murder of their parents. Some were set on fire.
Glenn predicted that something like this will also happen in the United States after the terrorists evaluate the Western response to the Manchester tragedy.
Leon Wolf, managing editor of TheBlaze, pointed out that President Donald Trump’s response to the attack was to use the pronoun “they” to refer to Islamists in general. The previous administration frequently would only acknowledge the solitary suicide bomber.
Glenn thought that this is a step in the right direction, but, sadly, it’s only coming from one half of the political spectrum.
